We are we on a mission to get our children more active by developing the fundamental physical skills that are so often overlooked, our PE lessons are centred around the child to enable them to be successful in the classroom and in later life. Our PE lessons follow a holistic approach to develop children's physical, personal, social and emotional skills.

The development of physical skills promotes confidence and co-ordination. Our P.E. curriculum covers gymnastics, athletics and games skills both indoors and outside.  The children also take part in traditional and creative dance.  We aim to promote physical exercise and an understanding of why this is beneficial to health and learning. 

Real P.E. 

Real P.E. is a unique, child-centred approach which transforms how we teach PE to engage and challenge EVERY child.  It gives EVERY child the physical literacy, emotional and thinking skills to achieve in PE, Sport and life.

Schools with primary-age pupils receive a PE and sport premium grant.  At Bawnmore we are allocated funding to support pupils in Year 1 and Year 2. Schools must use the funding to make additional and sustainable improvements to the quality of physical education (PE), physical activity and sport we offer.

This means that we should use the premium to:

• develop or add to the PE, physical activity and sport activities that our school already offers
• build capacity and capability within the school to ensure that improvements made now will benefit pupils joining the school in future years
