This year as part of World Book Day celebrations we would like to invite you to take part in the ‘Share a Million Stories’ event. It’s a campaign to help change children’s lives and make story sharing a habit of a lifetime – we would like to join in with the national appeal by sharing and recording over a million stories throughout World Book Day month. Sharing a story is being read to or reading with an adult, sibling, friend – or pet for a minimum of 10 minutes. Ideally, this takes place at any time throughout the day, from breakfast till bedtime – at the breakfast table, on the bus, in the bath, or in bed! You will be receiving a World Book Day ‘Reading Record Sheet’ which encourages your child to record all their story shares between the 27th February and 29th March. We will be holding our Dressing Up Day on Thursday 5th March and we would like the children to come to school dressed as their favourite storybook character—it would be great if they could bring their book to share in school too.
